Well, what a month it's been!!!! Not much scrapping going on but I did get away for a few hours at the monthly Library retreat with some fabulous ladies and looking forward to the next one when I can stay all day:) T...went back to CCHS, and my part time job is now going to full time!!! It's a good thing I love my job. C had a great birthday, I had a great anniversary and birthday, and we are off to a great October. I think I have a good routine down.

before bed lunches started
Espresso machine ready( a must)
Breakfast partially started(eggs blended, etc...)
up at 5:00 am
everyone ready
hot breakfast made
coffee!!!!!!
lunches packed
out the door by 7:00

as long as I stick to that schedule it is pretty much stress free. At work I feel like I'm racing the clock to get all my work done on time. However I would rather feel like that than be without anything to do. Trying to keep on a schedule but not let it rule my life.

We were asked by the in-laws to join that side of the fam for Christmas at the beach. I am such a tradition girl that I said no....but then said yes. I really felt a need to step out of my "tradition" shell and start to build memories. Added bonus....I'm taking my scrap stuff and plan to get lots done!!!!! Also plan to make some home-made gifts this year and stay on a tight tight budget.

The kids are loving being at school...parent night was comical. H left us a note that said "I know you would rather be watching T.V.".....A friend, whose son is in the same class, had a similar sentiment....but involved the computer..lol!!! C's was just as cute...we left them notes in return. And then since it was our anniversary we went to applebee's for apps. with the Brown's!!!

Well just a quik post...so behind on this and so many things at the moment. Losts of changes again, but I just go with the flow(so cliche).

Started a new job at CCHS (it's part time but have been working full)
Owe (sorry) Gina her surprise and Janie some paper(sorry, sorry)
Need to set a firm Saturday with the girls for the scrap group
Need to breathe
the 2 Little's are back at school, no more home school for me right now
Heading to the beach for a long long weekend:)

Hope to update next week when we get back from the beach and work is only half day.

Cake T and I made for a Friends Party

There has been so much going on around here! We spent the entire day at the lake yesterday. When I say entire...I mean the entire day. We wanted to leave the house around 8:30 but ended up leaving around 9:15...spent the day docked in a no wake zone. I love to watch the kids on the toys, wake boards, etc...but I get rather anxious when other boaters are around my kids. It's much better for them and me to be docked in the sun somewhere else on the lake. We were joined by Jammie(my cousin) and her family as well as 2 other families. The guys took turns taking loads of people out to ski,tube, etc... Most of the girls and little kids just soaked up the sun where we were docked. Afterwards we went to the site where the 2 families were camping to BBQ hot dogs. We didn't even get home til after 10.

We have missed Miss T this week while she has been at camp.

I am starting a little scrapbook club with memory-works we are going to get together once a month to have a crop/workshop...if you are interested in joining or hearing more about it I can email it to you, you don't have to be a local girl to join.

There have been soooo many sneak peeks from manufacturers lately....too many to list all at once...I will post a few each day. Tell me what your favorite's are!!!!

Hi all...Taking a new Photo editing class from Jessica Spague...This was my first assign. BTW....thank you for all the prayers and well wishes my moms oldest living sister passed away this morning. My moms other sister, the next youngest one, was finally diagnosed with picks disease( a form of Alzheimer's) she probably is looking at maybe a year and a half left. The odd thing is all of them are in their sixties...not very old considering the diseases. It has been a challenging year for us as a family. Thank you again!!!

DT Tryouts...Questions from the last post...

Wish me luck I just finished some projects the last couple of days for a couple of DT tryouts. One is a manufacturer and the other a store/KOTM. I have one more planned that I am working on and will let you know when It's done. Give a shout out to Miss Gina she tried out for Cosmo Cricket which is totally her style!!!! Thank you all for your well wishes after my surgery...it has been a slow recovery( I should say slow for me) and it seems like I will have to take it easy for a week or two more(boo hoo). Now answering a few questions from the last post: The letters on my last posted page are from the alphalicious cricket cart, No I'm not taking lessons on the cake thing, I just love to cook and am a food network junkie...thought I would give it a try, No special reason for the cake...T and I wanted to see if we could do it... a few things need to be worked out like rolling the fondant thinner, making the cake less airy, frosting the middle and outside of the cake thicker. Now that we have made this one we are going to try a 2 tier...any tips?????

T and I made our first fondant covered layered cake today. We were surprised how good it turned out consider we didn't have any REAL tools. We actually colored all the fondant ourselves. Here are a few new layouts too. Surgery went well....I was thinking I would be up and around a day or two after but I wasn't. I was sooo surprised at how tired and just plain yucky I felt...I finally surrendered and stayed down until today...but by around 7:00 I was exhausted and took a long nap. Just about ready to call it a night again.

Twas the day before surgery and all through the house just one pile of clutter was left to invade my clean house. The packages were labeled for the postman with care in hopes that he would hurry and get them out of here.......can't think of more sorry. Some of you ladies know that Monday is my FUN surgery day.... I planned to be quicker than this mailing out packages...unfortunately I ended in the hospital last Thursday which put a damper on last weeks give away(as well as a speedy ship date). Answering a few questions....the stars were hand cut out of the paper and layered. I found the paper a Craft warehouse...wanted to enter the contest that Reminisce was having just didn't know where to find the paper but stumbled upon it at CWH sitting on there counter....they hadn't even put it out yet!

It's been awhile................Aphasia

I know, I'm a bad blogger. It's been crazy busy here on the home front. Good news...my Mom is home released from care and almost fully recovered. Thanks for all the prayers and support during that hard hard time....thanks Angela for all the help with kids, keeping me company, and arranging meals!!! Kari K., Carrie B., Bree., Tonya, and Lori...thanks for all the wonderful meals and all the company.

Prayer request...one of my mom's sisters is in the hospital with what they think is heart failure and my other aunt (the one diagnosed with aphasia) is having a difficult time. We think it may not be aphasia but some else because she has the speech symptoms of aphasia but there is also other things...seeing things that aren't there,confused, but not like Alzheimer's. I hope that someone out there sees this post and can give us some insight...maybe someone else has gone through this????

NSB Day was suppose to be at my house....I had 10 confirmed well in advance. I worked all week to prepare the house and slowly almost everyone began to cancel right before. I was so disappointed because I love to entertain and almost called it off completely the day before. Ended up with Janie, Lori, and Angela. At first I thought Angela just came for drinks lol!!! Man that girl surprised me (not really a scrapbooker)! She has been holding out on us!!! You will have to check her blog for the pages she did (wow) they make my first pages look like pre-schooler did them. To Tee and Carrie (sure I spelled that wrong...I have sooo many friends with that name and I think they are all spelled differently)...who I had told the day before I was going to cancel completely...I am sorry, coming for a short time would have been just fine, that I didn't get back to you guys I owe you guys a scrap day here....let me know what day works for you guys, my treat!!!

I am very excited about a new phase in my life....more details to come later. I can tell you that it combines two of my favorite hobbies and one of my favorite people!!!

Happy Mothers Day to all the amazing mothers out there. I have been ordered by Brian and the kids that I am not to lift a finger tomorrow. So, I cleaned the downstairs and finished the laundry yesterday. Today I will work on the upstairs. My goal is to plant some flowers in the yard and clear the area that we are putting a small raised garden. I updated my picture and background.....the picture is of Kauai...so wishing I was there right now.

My mom is doing much better and the power of prayer has her healing amazingly fast, the Lord is good! I will keep updating as she progresses. Another prayer request... I also have an aunt(my moms sister) that was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia the day before my moms stroke....if anyone knows or has known someone with this please email me or leave a post.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

My mom had a stroke last night and I am asking that you keep her in your prayers. We went from mild symptoms last night to paralysis of the right side this morning. I have had the most amazing peace about this... it's just knowing that God is in control and has a plan...and that I couldn't change it no matter what my reaction may be. After being in prayer all day and having many of God's people pray throughout the day, I went in to sit with her in ICU at 8:00 this evening...I was so blessed to see that she was sitting up, eating, and had regained use of 50% of her right side. Please keep up all the prayers.....Thank you!! The Darby's

We had a very quiet family night at home, first we watched a Veggie Tale Movie and then the girls fell asleep on the sofa.C played club penguin, and Brian played some sort of video game on the comp. I however was very busy creating in between loads of laundry!!!! Yes, it has been some time and once I got started I just couldn't stop. I'm back to using my scraps to make a card after each layout....great way to use up scraps and make a card before you actually need it. Not the best color quality for the pictures it was dark.

The Bachelor or should I say..........

Well, I just had to post this while it was fresh in my mind. We waited all day to watch this last episode along with everyone else in America. We were soooo excited he picked Melissa, only to be let down with Jason's "I think the grass is greener..." revelation on the after the rose show. I think that was probably the fasted ANYONE has gone from being absolutely loved by America to hated(strong word but remember you have to love before you can hate) by America. Wow, what a...hmmm... coward would be the perfect word to describe him. I completely agree with Melissa about why not fight for it...fight for what they have to see if it will grow. I say good riddance Melissa your better off!!! Suppose they had gotten married and even pregnant and he then got cold feet and he said"I'm just not sure". OK...so what is this 2Nd after the rose show tomorrow!!!! It must be he changed his mind again and wants Melissa again or maybe it's Jillian this time. I just can't turn my head that fast.

We are heading up to Union Creek to go sledding today!!! I have been busier than I like. I taught two classes at JDH on Friday to some great kids. I am getting ready to teach a class in Idaho(very excited to see the Eller's). It's so funny that I finally gave up on the idea that I would be teaching or creating for a company...and then things just start dropping in my lap. I will post pictures later of the snow.

A belated Happy New Year to everyone. I know....it has been too long since my last post. I have lots of pictures to share. We had a nice quiet New Years eve...Norm and T came over. We ordered Chinese, had some madras', and watched a movie. The 4 girls plus 2 daughters all went to celebrate Carrie's b-day at Shoji's we had a great time.

Family and Saying goodbye to a good Friend......

We had a great rest of the Christmas week. We had lots of Family over from down south and all just returned home yesterday. We did get a unexpected call yesterday morning. We have lived in our house for 4 years and for 3 1/2 of those years Dr. Bob Miller and wife Tonya have lived next door. We have gotten to know them very well. We've shared backyard barbeque's,dinner's together, good times, fireworks, mowing each others lawn, and even a knocked down front porch courtesy of Bob's raft trailer . In the summer Bob had a bout with a case of cancer. He was finally done with his last radiation/chemo when he started to have problems with what he thought was a slipped disc. After some test on his back they found that the cancer had spread. They gave Bob 2-6 months....he started another round of radiation. Yesterday morning Bob went home to be with our Lord. Please keep Tonya and Family in your prayers and His two teen daughters. Bob you will be greatly missed!!!!

Merry Belated WHITE Christmas..................

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas....we sure did. We did let the kids know that this year we would have a more modest Christmas than in years past. Despite the modestness(is that even a word?) of it all, the kids were more excited than in past years????? What great kids!!!! We had been blessed with bits of snow here and there leading up to the BIG day. Christmas Eve was no exception....we headed out to church with it snowing and with Grandma D in tow. This year due to weather we were all packed inside..it was cozy and warm:). We then headed for home and dropped off some goodies and presents to the Homier/Tallerico clan and then home to get cookies and cocoa ready for Santa. The kiddos went to bed around 10:00 but of course too excited to sleep, which meant no sleep for mom and dad. It stated with um 16 year old "T" coming into our room at 12ish to say she couldn't sleep....she tried to doze off in our room then opted for TV in "H's" room which then woke "H" up at 2ish. Now 2 girls awake and mom and dad getting very little sleep...after a warm bath for both..and some more TV they finally fell asleep. However it was then time for "C" to wake up...trotting into our room again and another dear child in our bed. That was at 3ish still not much sleep for mom and dad!!!!! Finally at 6ish "C" decided to wake up for good. A very tired mom and dad gave up on the thought of a peaceful nights sleep and decided to get ready for the day. However we did make them suffer a bit by keeping them upstairs waiting while we made some much needed coffee. All were happy with what Santa had brought even mom and dad. And the best of all was the White Christmas, I can't remember the last time we had one of those. Then it was off to the in-laws for breakfast. Home again we went and had a wonderful dinner of old fashion ham, real yams, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans, and fruit salad. Of course "C" had chicken nuggets. Followed by several different kinds of pies. I tried to watch a movie with everyone in the evening but was too tired and had to go to bed. It looks like our snow is gone for now:( looking forward to the next round of it.

BTW: way to go Ang on the new blog....how did you ever set up such a cool site????:)

Ok so we were suppose to get some major snow storm.....nothing yet just some light flurries here and there. I forgot to post some pictures of Miss T and her friends that I took. Hopefully my composition will get better with the new class I am taking.

Almost Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...I can't believe Christmas is almost here. It all goes by way too fast, why is it that the older we get the faster time goes by???? Well, we finally have our tree up, lights hung...however no presents wrapped. I am embarrassed to say that I am not done shopping yet. We have many parties coming up this week. C and H finished school on Thursday, they are lucky (me too) to have 3 weeks off. B and I will be baking this week and delivering goodies to all our friends on Friday. We were suppose to have a winter storm this weekend...I was skeptical and it seems to have missed us again!!!!! I love snow!!!! I have been taking an on-line photography class from a local teacher and friend her name is Karen some of you scrapbookers may know her...she is a designer (narratives) and an awesome photographer. There is so much information and I am a week or two behind on assignments. Luckily I can work at my own pace.

T 16th Birthday weekend

Happy Thanksgiving....hope all of you have a blessed and thankful day. Our Thanksgiving started bright and early when I got up and made cinnamon rolls.Table is set, Pies are made (banana cream, pumpkin, a new one orange meringue), Turkey is in the oven, baked the sweet potatoes last night, fruit salad is done. This is the first year we decided not to stuff the turkey and I am trying a new recipe...I will let you know how it turns out. This is also the first year in probably 10 years that I am not going out the day after to shop :( but I have to say that I almost have all the shopping done and there just isn't much out there that I have to get especially at 4:00 am. Instead we are going to have a pajama movie day and decorate for Christmas.

another DT project...Actually has a clear background on the birdcage side

Here a few projects....I have been trying to catch up on old film pictures, I take a pack of pictures and make myself scrap them before I go on to anything else. The circle one is a design team project, I will have 3 more to share later today(maybe). Along with everyone else in America(due to the failing economy) I have been cooking at home more...made some awesome quiche last night which is perfect for picky eaters. Also cinnamon rolls and then I have been making a loaf of bread ( I use bread flour 1/2 white 1/2 wheat) in the bread machine almost every day everyone at home loves it, as well as apple sauce ( I use half the sugar) every other week. We were up in the Portland area this week and decided to go to Roloff Farms. It was the last day of their pumpkin season, we had such a good time. We met Jeremy, Amy, and Zach and we saw Jacob and Matt. Molly was busy doing homework but we did get to meet her friend. We may just make this a yearly event they are such nice people and so humble and grateful. Here are a few pictures:)

T had homecoming this weekend...we were volunteered to cook dinner for the 11 kids that were all going as a group...it ended up being 8 (thank the Lord). I think they all liked it??? and as always I love to entertain...no matter what age the guests are. I am so glad T had a good time..I was a bit worried with it being a new school and all...but it sounds like it was just what she needed.I also tried to take some pics of my niece for her Sr. pictures...her mom isn't in to the picture thing so I told her I would try to take a few shots for the year book. Keep in mind they haven't been edited...I am hoping I can get them looking even better:)

Ok....so I know I need to post more than just once a week but the weeks go by so fast!!!! I think that the older I get the faster the days speed by!!??? I changed the photo on my header....It is a picture of my front door(it's the only fall photo I could find on short notice plus we haven't been to the pumpkin patch to take pictures yet). I decorated the front door for homecoming. T is going with a group of boys and girls...she didn't want to go with just anyone...she wanted to save the date part for someone she really liked, so rather than miss it she is going with a group...We are hosting dinner at our house and wanted a great place to take pictures...plus it helps me get into the Fall spirit!!! I think I may even make pumpkin muffins today! I do have something creative to post...it was assignment #5 for CWH DT...my term is coming to an end :(...I have to wait a term to re-apply. But be on the lookout for the next tryout for the DT. I have to say with Valerie passing away I just was not in the mood to make this item...I was actually late on getting it going and out in the mail...but happy to say it is done....be on the look out for a giveaway this week:).

Happy Sunday...it seems like Fall is finally here(it is about time!). I love Fall...football games,soccer,the leaves changing,apple cider,pumpkins...etc. Valerie's memorial service was beautiful the theme was Celebrate Life and that was exactly what we did. It feels like forever since I blogged....home schooling has me a bit overwhelmed however I feel like we are finally getting into a groove. I didn't get any response except for Amy (hehe) waiting on a package...I still can't find an email or an address for my stamp winner..if you are out there please email me!!!! And I think I may owe one to Deb because I had some items with your name on them???? I have not done one creative thing lately and I am chomping at the bit to get something done. I do have a CWH project that I need to get done so I will at least post that soon. I miss blogging and am going to make an effort to get back into it. Lots of changes in our personal life this fall...Tay is now a registered Sophomore at North. Her journey at GCS is now over:(. I have mixed feelings about this but I know she is a great kid and will do well. It is the same high school I went to...she even has the same counselor. I will be trying to go back to work this Fall...if I can find a job. It's been 16 years since I have a worked a job outside the home. I would rather be able to do something at home...but what is there? Another awesome change is I have taken on some creative contract work, a few projects a month...I would rather take on more work like this than have to work away from home..if you all know anyone who needs work like that done send them my way. I have thought a lot about submitting more to magazine's etc...but they don't pay any more...they just give reimbursement packages???

Ok...summer is here I have no more excuses as to why I can't blog more often. The first few days of break the two little ones were sick they slept a lot and so did I. We worked out in the back yard on Sunday after church and Monday all day. We are trying to get our path way under control and decided to make the kids play area an outdoor living area...Really wanted to get a new BBQ that hooks up to the house..we plumbed the natural gas to the back when we built the house so we could do just that but now I am having a hard time finding a BBQ that will do that. Do they all just have that option these days????? Took T yesterday to drop off some resumes, went to the store to pick up lunch fixings...I forgot that during summer I actually have to make the kids lunch daily. Having a Pedi tomorrow with Ang for her B-day hoping to squeeze lunch in as well and trying to finish my CWH projects up this week. I just read about the tragic loss of the Chapman family. If you know our family, you know that we are huge Steven Curtis Chapman Fans....our wedding song is by him, we have every album every made by him, and we also had the pleasure of seeing him in concert on Bri's b-day a few years ago. So we are here we arrived @ 11:30 am Hawaii time...almost 45 minutes ahead of schedule....we checked in,went to our room so glad it was a ocean view(only 100 available for our trip), however when we walked into our room we were disappointed to find 2 double beds....we called down to the Wachovia desk and they said we could have a king but it would be mountain view:(....the told us to just get comfortable and they would see what they could do...about 15 minutes later Brian called and told them not to worry we would be fine....15 minutes later they called us and said we found you a king BUT..........it's a SUITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a few minutes later the bell hop came up to help us move....he said " it pays to be calm about misunderstandings". We were just thrilled to be here at such a amazing resort and now we have this huge suite....it is bigger than our first apartment!!!!!!!!!! It is raining off and on but is still gorgeous and hot...more to come tomorrow..miss ya little ones, thanks to all for helping out this week with transportation...and thanks Kay and Lar for having flat Stanley for the weekend...here are a few photos...blessings

Happy national scrapbook day everyone. This day finds me at home this morning...I think this is the first time in several years that I have not attended a NSD crop:(. There is just too much going on for me to take 2 days off and scrap. T..shot her best golf game yesterday(way to go Tay!!!). When she started the golf team this year she of course wanted a titanium driver(?????) so Dad told her if by some chance she shot a 52 on 9 holes she could get one. Well yesterday at her tourn. she shot a 108..first 9 was 50 and she placed 2nd overall, so now Dad has to by it for her(he he). I don't think he thought she would make it this year. Happy 21st anniv. to Gary&Michelle(way to go guys) in a world that divorce is more common that marriage, 21 years is an amazing accomplishment. Well we moved my scrapbook studio for what I hope is the final time this week....I have all the furniture but the wall are a blank canvas...I'm hoping to fill them with things to hang my pages on and lots of family pictures..just need some ideas if anyone has any???? Ok so now it's time to get H in the tub and off to a b-day party however I am going to stop at a local SS to get a great deal on cardstock...OMG...I almost forgot.....I got a Cricut Expression!!!!!! I am glad to have this room organized so now I can play with it will post pic later! Blessings....

Ok...so a lot to catch up on...so I am a bit behind on my pages but will get with it shortly. I moved my scrapbook room again or I should say for good(wishful thinking). Finally decided to take back the downstairs room off the entry..looking into glass french doors to close it off. Brian turned 40 on the 7th!!!!! We had a small surprise party for him at the Bella, well it was suppose to be a surprise party but the hostess blew it..I guess she missed the big letters on the reservation paper that said "SURPRISE". C is taking a break from karate but is playing rallyball after school. We may start tennis again for C and H....and we are going to start swim again. T is playing golf for CC doing great...the first tourn. was not so good but the the 2nd she bettered her game but almost 30 strokes and the last tourn. she shot a 128 on a hard course and came in 5th overall(yeah Taylor)!!!! We had a great dinner with Gary and Michelle last night thank you guys. Getting ready to go to Hawaii in May trying to drop a few more pounds before we leave.....and that is about it. I will update my daily pages which has not been so daily, when my room is all set up. until then...blessings

Tess in now 7 Happy Birthday! Our weekend went something like this.....Saturday night we went to the Roseborough's for an amazing BBQ dinner it was so good I ate too much. Sunday we stayed home,We skipped church but did listen to it on the radio. I finished up some scrapbooking projects and Brian/kids played the Wii until it was time to go to T's B-day party. It was lots of fun, the kids played non-stop and the adults ate/talked. Came home, ate dinner,& put the kids to bed. Will check in later.
